I am a science artist and outdoor educator with a background in geology and physical geography.
I love finding creative ways to re-imagine scientific concepts to reveal the stories hidden in rocks and the landscapes that they form. In my practice, I weave together science with personal experiences.
The natural world is an endless source of inspiration. I love spending time outdoors and tuning into the landscape around me. I try to translate this feeling into my work and help everyone connect with nature by inspiring curiosity and learning.
I think of my art as a collaboration with the Earth.

I love painting both in situ (likely a result of the many hours I spent sketching outcrops during my undergrad) and in my studio. Most of my illustrations are based on rocks from my own collection or field photos, but I also often visit various museums to get inspired.
Every illustration starts with a period of research, detailed observations and thorough planning. The painting process itself is then relatively quick as I try to capture the unpredictability of the natural world in quick yet carefully placed brushstrokes.
