Hebridean igneous rocks

from £12.00

Inspired by vintage mineral posters, this print features eight igneous rocks from classic areas of Scottish geology. Around 60 to 52 million years ago, the North Atlantic Ocean started opening, leading to the youngest period of volcanism in Scotland.

Included are cumulate (Rum), gabbro (Ardnamurchan), benmoreite (Mull), pitchstone (Eigg), riebeckite microgranite (Ailsa Craig), porphyritic rhyolite (Arran), amygdaloidal basalt (Skye) and doleritic breccia (St Kilda).

Digitally printed on archival, acid-free paper made from 100% cotton fibre in the UK. Pictured is the A5 variant.
