Feldspar exsolution geological diagram

£3.50

Mineralogy is full of scary diagrams (this one literally looks like an angry face). But once you get to know them a bit better, they seem more friendly!

Take the exsolution of feldspars: as you cool your melt down, you will initially get a single feldspar, but as the melt cools down even more, the elements that were mixed together in this one feldspar will separate (exsolve) and form two distinct feldspars in these little streaks.

A6 print of an original watercolour illustration printed on paper made in Hull from 100% recycled post-consumer waste fibre.
