The Pocket Rocks collection celebrates the small rocks and minerals that you carry in your pocket. Often overlooked, yet equally as important as whole outcrops.
Obsidian is a volcanic glass formed when silicic lava (that is, with a lot of quartz in it) cools down really fast - so fast that crystals don’t have any time to grow properly. Obsidian is also very brittle and its fractures are conchoidal: this feature has long been exploited to make tools.
