The Pocket Rocks collection celebrates the small rocks and minerals that you carry in your pocket. Often overlooked, yet equally as important as whole outcrops.
Wood can become fossilised in several ways: buried by sediment, enveloped in volcanic ash or drowned in a bog. Sometimes, not much happens to it and it still looks like wood. But other times, when the conditions are just right, silica slowly replaces the tree’s original cells, bit by bit. This process not only preserves the tree but also fills it with spectacular mineral colours.
